February 14 - White Our Weekend - Illuminated Woods Walk with luminaries and solar lights; Fairy Village at the Labyrinth; Bonfire, food and Open Mike at Z-Park - all in Wanakena

​February 15 - Display of historic winter photos and stories. Collecting Winter Tales (stories for the "Two Towns " project. and Common Thread Quilts display - all at the Star Lake Presbyterian church).

June 21 – Wanakena History Center Opens for the season (every Sat & Sun 11-4pm)​

The Wanakena Historical Association (WHA) was formed in the year 2000 to:
- Preserve historic sites and structures
- Disseminate and encourage greater knowledge of the history of the Hamlet of Wanakena
- Gather, preserve, display and make available materials relating to the history of Wanakena
- Encourage suitable marking of sites of historic interest
- Promote and encourage original historical research
